Little Girl's Hairstyles How to do a Fish Tail Braid Video Tutorial

Little Girl's Hairstyles -Floating french braid 10-15 min

This style has taken a few attempts to get correct. Although it doesn't look too difficult, and it really isn't, it took me a few tries to figure out what to do and what NOT to do to get it correct. I saw this one on my most favorite show (Gilmore Girls--that sadly ended a few years ago--moment of silence), and thought it looked simple and cute. Simple for some! I will include some of my mess ups so that you don't do the same!
Center part--wet hair--if you so desire.
Section off hair depending on how high/low you want the braid to wrap around her head. I wish I had gone lower--but since this was attempt #4, I just went with it.
This is on the opposite side of her head from the above picture, but shows (hopefully) the idea here. You want to start french braiding back, but only add in hair from the TOP down, not the bottom. That is how there is hair hanging down below the braid, and creates the 'floating' effect.
Getting closer to the back. This is where it gets tricky. You don't want to add hair in past the part. If you do, it bunches funny when you bring the two braids together in the back. In this picture I'm almost to the point where I should be stopping the adding in of hair.
These two pictures (above and below) show how I pulled in hair from the back section of her hair, that I shouldn't have. I had to redo each of these and make it more even.
Do you see the difference here? On the left, there's a spot where there's still a section added in that shouldn't have been,......but I was done. You just use a large bow at this point and cover it. Braid sections down as far as you like and join together.
See? Large SUPER cute bow. This is a darling Halloween bow I got from Madibu Bows, which I absolutely LOVE. And look how nicely it covers my oops. Visit their button below to get yours!

Happy Halloween! Perhaps I'll try this one again farther down her head....who knows. Hairstyles shouldn't take longer than one Max and Ruby.

Little Girl's Hairstyles -Puffy Braids with Headband

My good friend sent me these pictures of her darling girl, and the fun things she does with her hair. I asked her if I could share them--because, seriously, look how cute she is!

She parted off the front into a side part, and then pulled it down low on the sides to make a headband, then parted off the back like so.
Can you see how it's parted in the front, and then secured on the sides?  So cute!
She looks as good as you, S! Thanks gals! I'll estimate a time on this: 7-10 min?
