Little Girl's Hairstyles - Uneven Braid 5-7 min

So hi! I've been absentee for a while! My little gal had spring break and we were off playing--but now it's back to business!
Here's an oldie and a goodie. I saw a little girl at my daughter's dance class with these braids, and I thought, "Oh, that's cute!" And then, after I looked at it a bit longer, I realized, "Hey, I know how to do that!" So, with that being said, here's an EASY do (if you can braid, you can do this!), and it caught even my callused hairdo eye, figuratively speaking of course.
I am putting in a bit on parting here, since it's something I get asked from time to time how to do effectively (ie smoothly). First, comb/brush out the hair well. Second, part the hair, placing your thumb of one hand in the indent in her neck for reference, then bring the comb down to your thumb. This will help get it in the center. Last, spray the hair after you part it, and then comb away from the part. The wet hair will stay parted while you work on one side.
On this hairdo, I did an angle part to the crown.
I did two ponytails. You don't have to for this braid, but it makes handling the hair a bit easier.
To begin the braid, which is just a regular 3 strand braid, but with uneven sections, divide the hair into 3 sections: 2 small, 1 large. I like to take my 2 smaller sections from the same side, and I try to get some of the longest hairs in each, so I pull from under the ponytail, if possible. I do this since it takes much more hair to wrap around the biggest section, and I have to end the braid sooner than normal. If you can work in some longer sections, like from the middle, your braid will be longer. Also, the smaller the sections, the shorter the braid as well. BUT, the smaller the sections, the better the braid looks (in my opinion).
And begin braiding...
I always spray the undersides and topsides of braids with hairspray when I'm done, to give it some hold, and you are done!

Oh, and be sure to look down there at the new Stephenie Meyer novel! You can reserve it today! I just did mine!
