This is a GREAT little hair accessory that I received as a gift from Sarah Montee, an independent Lilla Rose consultant, and my gals and I love it! It's called a Flexi-Clip, and it's a new and improved version of the good old chopsticks style hair pins. And the best news about one of these is, you could win one of your own! We'll be giving away a gift certificate to the Flexi-Clip website. Details in my next post........
So first, check out how great, cute, and easy these hair clips are!
Here's some pics of some of the hairdo's we've tried:

This pic shows how we used a ponytail first to secure her slippery hair.

How to do the Thumbelina hairstyle video tutorial
We did this video illustrating a favorite hairdo of ours, that I posted about quite a while ago. We got it from my daughter's Barbie Thumbelina doll, which was one of the gal's fave movies. Here's a pic of the doll's hairdo:
And my wee one with her fave dolly and matching hairdo:

How to do a Rosette Bun Video Tutorial
Hi gals,
We are crazy about rosettes lately! This is a tad bit different style of rosette, and I just love it. It ends up looking pretty fancy, and I've used this bun in a half ponytail up on top of the head and then left the bottom half of the hair down. Try sticking in some cute flowers!
Crazy Halloween hair this year ladies?
Enjoy!

How to do Girl's Hair: Hair Rosette Headband Hairstyle Video Tutorial
A cute easy and FAST hairdo for those fellow moms who have more than one girl's head of hair to do before school! My little blondie started Kindergarten this year, and holy smokes do I have to be on top of it to get them both ready in a short amount of time. I've opted for the "one fancy, one quick" hairdoing, and then we rotate. My girls could care less which one they are in the morning, it's more to appease mom!
These are pics from a previous post. As you can see in this video, the placement doesn't always turn out perfect! I apologize--it's just indicative of my life right now: I have X amount of minutes to accomplish something (ex: the hair video) and I just have to do the best I can in those allotted minutes and take what I can get! My sweet baby really dictates my schedule, as you can hear her voicing her commands! Enjoy!
Hair Rosette Headband Hairdo:

The ideal hairstyle
The main difference between my video and the above pics are the placements of the ponytails. You can see I didn't pull all of her hair in the front into ponytails, but just the hair from where it matches up with her eye and over. DO THIS, if you want your rosettes closer together. Do what I show on the video if you want all the front hair pulled up. Both are good--just depends on what look you prefer.
Happy Hairdoing!

How to do FUN hair color on your girls! Video Tutorial
So my fabulous hair stylist friend, who's always doing something fun and exciting, put some super darling colors in her girls' hair this summer. When my gals saw it, they immediately turned to me with those puppy dog eyes that pled "PUHLEEZE Mommy!?" We had to give it a try! Because it's semi permanent, I felt ok about putting it in their healthy and pristine never-been-damaged hair (well, I felt less guilty). Take a peek!
I love how it peeks out from her braid here:
The pics of my older brunette's color didn't do the color justice, so I didn't include them. Don't be put off by my photo UN-expertise skills, this was really fun! My little blondie really loved having "barbie' hair for a few weeks!

Little Girl's Hairstyles: Double Spiral French Braids Video Tutorial
Here's a fun little hairstyle we tried out one day and really ended up liking! You know me gals, I love anything with braids! Forgive my messy bedroom--I never realize how much actually ends up in these videos. I was doing hair, not worried about that blanket hanging out from under my comforter!

How to do little girl's hairstyles: Amanda Seyfried "Letters to Juliet" Hairstyle Video Tutorial
I've been asked several times to show how to do this particular hairstyle. After watching the bit of movie in which this hairstyle is showcased about 50 times, here's what I've come up with. It's easier with long hair (in fact long hair is a must for this-either your own or some of those clip in extensions). Either way-hope you enjoy it! Also, my gal had this in her hair all day long and it stayed in--bobby pins and all!

Little Girl's Hairstyles: How to do a French Rope Braid Video Tutorial
Well, I'm sure some of you have just given up hope that I would EVER return to the world of hairdo-blogging. I wondered at times as well! BUT, I am here, and on the road to normal life! My baby is sleeping through the night, and the fog has lifted, and I even am exercising (okay, only 3 times so far in two months), and life is GOOD!
This video was done actually before I had my little one, but the editing and getting it off my camera business seems to take more time than the actual hairdo. I found this hairstyle in a book one day, and it looked intriguing, so here we go. It's the getting the hands in the right places on this one that's the challenge, but it really is pretty and different! I'd love to hear what you think when you try it!

Little Girl's Hairstyles: Video Tutorial: How to use soft foam (or sponge) curlers
Hi ladies! I am setting this post up pre-baby, so hopefully it will come through on time, and won't have any problems.
Using the soft or sponge/foam curlers in my girls' hair is pretty routine in our household, especially when we know we'll be having some major hair-doing event in the morning, and I know I"ll be trying to prepare 3 heads of hair. We use these for church hairdos and lately, for my oldest's dance competition hairdo's. Here's a few examples of the cute bouncy curls you get from using these great soft curlers:
Just after taking out the soft curlers:
Finished hairdo:
A curly bun with all the curls pulled up on top in a high ponytail: (I'll be posting how to do this hairstyle later on).
Have a great weekend!!

These are great to use for those Easter Sunday hairdos!! Try them out with the off centered braids and twists I've been sharing lately. Just roll her hair the night before, then do the braids/twists then next morning. ***Just remember***don't roll WET hair, unless you plan on spending a fair amount of time blow drying the curlers while in her hair. I always blow dry their hair after their baths, then put in the soft curlers. Adding a little gel before blow drying also helps add shine and helps control frizz.
Have a great weekend!!

How to do girl's hairstyles: How do to a Messy Bun No. 2 Video Tutorial
Here's another way to do a messy bun, after putting the hair into a stuffed bun. This has been what we've been trying lately, and I like how it turns out.
Happy Thanksgiving! Enjoy your time with family and friends. May we all take the time to remember our blessings and give gratitude to our Heavenly Father for them. :)

How to do little girl's hair: How to make a Fabric Rosette Headband Video Tutorial
I had a request from one of my readers to show how I made the headband I shared in an earlier post:
How to make a Rosette Headband. I should differentiate between the two, since that was an actual hairDO and this is how to make the actual headband. I had already had a video tutorial for it recorded, since we decided to make some for party favors for my 7 year old's birthday party. What luck!
My sweet 7 year old is the actual film technician again, so please excuse the slight bounciness and the stray finger that gets in there occasionally. We have to make do with the resources available to us!
Enjoy, and be careful with those hot glue guns......they are murder!

Little Girl's Hairstyles- How to do a Twist Braid Updo Video Tutorial
One of you fantastic ladies asked if I could do a video on an updo, and one that could be used at a wedding. Well, I hope this passes wedding muster! I've always been partial to hair piled up top with curls cascading down. Add in a ribbon and some baby's breath, and I think this will be fancy enough to throw out some rose petals!
I want to say a big THANK YOU to my sweet 7 year old too, she filmed this video for me! It was lengthy too (the filming), and she did pretty darn good I think (this will explain some of the bouncy bounce)! Thanks punkin!
AND, I apologize that the video is broken in two parts. You Tube did not like the length of my original, so I had to divide it.
One thing I wished I'd tried for video is this: Hot glue some little silk flowers on bobby pins and pin them around the ponytail up top. Match it to her dress! You can also use wide ribbon or even do 2 ribbons encircling her head.
Happy wedding day! Send us some pics!

Little Girl's Hairstyles - How to do a Side Twist Video Tutorial
This is a hairstyle that I do frequently on my gals. It's fast, and usually cooperates with me. It's also one that seems to draw a lot of comments when we are out and about.....so hopefully this video will be of some value to you! Also, I really and truly promise I do NOT give my children lollipops ALL the time. In fact I usually confiscate them when they bring them home from wherever. Because I have to have them. For later. When we do videos. :)

Little Girl's Hairstyles: Braided Headband with Ribbon Video Tutorial
I did this video at the request of a viewer, who saw this style on Princess Hairstyles, one of my favorite hair blogs, and asked if I could recreate it on a video. Well, Lynelle, here's my feeble attempt at this really darling little girl's hairstyle. Thanks Kori for such a brilliant idea! (And I know the needle part looks scary--I really was not worried in the least that I would poke her...but watching the video makes me cringe an eensy bit myself.)
I also wanted to post this in time for all you super dedicated moms who want to send their little darlings off to school on Friday with proper Valentine's Day party hair!
